If you carefully search the Scriptures, you will find over 500 prophesies about the Messiah. Only about half of these were fulfilled through the great mystery of Jesus’ incarnation – His birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection – leaving another half yet to be fulfilled by His Second Coming (Even so, come Lord Jesus!).
Tomorrow, we will narrow these down and focus on just one Christmas prophecy a day for the next 25 days.
If we want this to be more than just another check-the-box devotional, you and I will need to set aside time each day to truly delight in God’s proclamations. Allow your heart and mind to think deeply about the circumstances in which it was first given, to meditate on its beauty, to wonder at its implications, and to give thanks to God with joy inexpressible for sending Jesus to step into every single one of these eternal Truths.
Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now has been disclosed, and through the Scriptures of the prophets, in accordance with the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 16:25-27 NASB
