You have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so you too might walk in newness of life.

The old self must die so that the new may live. The old self – the sinful self – died on the cross with Jesus and through baptism received a water burial. By God washing away our sin and cleansing us from our old life, we are born again and raised to new life in Christ. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, we will certainly also be united in the likeness of His resurrection (Romans 6:5). You have been immersed into Jesus! Your identity is now found in Him. You have been crucified with Christ and you no longer live, but Christ lives in you (Galatians 2:20)! Arise and put Jesus on display! All praise to the glory of God. You are alive in Christ.
