Day 2 – Defeat the Enemy

“And I will put enmity between you (the serpent) and the woman (Eve), and between your seed (plural) and her seed (singular) and I will make enemies of you and the woman, and of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

– GENESIS 3:15 NASB95 –

The enemy of our souls landed a creation-shattering blow through his deception of Adam and Eve but will not enjoy a lasting victory – for God has a plan for rescue and redemption.

While the glimpse we are given in the garden will not be fully understood until Jesus steps down from heaven, the eternal battle plan is clearly summarized.  We are at war and Jesus will win.   

The Serpent Satan will one day “bruise” God’s Chosen Seed/the Messiah on the Cross, but that blow will only prove to be temporary.  To some, the Cross of Christ will appear as utter defeat and shame, but the Empty Tomb – the Resurrection will abolish death and crucify the penalty of sin in a devastating, crushing of Satan’s head for all eternity.   

Even from moment of sin’s genesis, a glorious victory is prophesied by God.  For God ordained Christmas to reverse the curse.  Fear not, Christmas is coming.
