Statement of Faith

Being fully inspired by God in its entirety, the Bible is His perfect Word and is the authority for all faith and life.  It is accurate in all matters to which it speaks – spiritual, historical, and scientific.  It constitutes God’s completed and final revelation. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 5:17-18, Matthew 4:4, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Isaiah 40:8)

There is one God who is personal, infinite, perfect; and He exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 93:2, Psalm 90:2, Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1-2, John 1:14,Colossians 2:9, John 10:30; Genesis 1:2, Joel 2:28-29, John 14:16-17, John 15:26)

The eternal Son of God became incarnate in the Lord Jesus Christ, being born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. He lived a sinless life, died physically in our place on the cross as a payment for sin, and was bodily resurrected from the grave three days later.  (Philippians 2:5-10, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, Acts 2:22-24, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Acts 22:4)

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity.  He convicts men of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals, and sanctifies all believers. (John 16:8-11, Ephesians 1:13-14, 2Thessalonians 2:13, Romans 8:16)

God spoke all things into being as He directly created the universe from no preexisting substance. (Genesis 1-2; Hebrews 11:3, Psalm 33:9, Jeremiah 10:12, Colossians 1:15-17, John 1:1-3)

Man was created in God’s image and fell into sin in Adam. He is now a sinner both by nature and by choice. Man is justly condemned to eternal judgment, can do nothing to earn salvation, and can be restored to God’s favor only through the work of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 3:10-16, Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 5)

Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  Salvation is found in no other name under heaven.  He is the only ground for man’s legal standing before God which includes both forgiveness of sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12)

Salvation is given to those chosen by God and drawn to Christ by the Holy Spirit by grace through faith in Jesus Christ apart from any human merit.  Every believer is promised positional, progressive and ultimate sanctification.  Every believer’s salvation is eternally secure in Christ, being kept by the power of God. Baptism by immersion is commanded by Christ and is an outward sign of what the Holy Spirit has already performed in the heart of the believer.  Christians are called to a holy life of service and testimony in the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 1:12-13; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:9-10, Titus 3:4-7, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:13-14)

All those who have experienced salvation are members of the Church, which is His body, Jesus Christ being the head.  The Church is the bride of Christ, formed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit of all believers into one body.  The local church is a group of believers voluntarily joined together in love to worship God, glorify Him, exercise the spiritual gifts for the equipping of the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ, preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and make disciples of all nations.  (Ephesians 1:18-23, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Ephesians 4:1-12; Ephesians 5:22-32)

All people will experience the resurrection: believers to the state of eternal life and unbelievers to the state of eternal punishment. (John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:11-15)

Jesus Christ, our Blessed Hope, will come again in power and glory.  Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (John 14:3, Matthew 24: 29-31, Titus 2:11-14, Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 22:20)
