8 : 32 Challenge

Where are you under attack and losing the battle?

  • “I’m so tired and need new strength.”
  • “I’m depressed and need hope.”
  • “I’m confused and need direction.”
  • “I say things I wish I hadn’t.”
  • “I’m so angry.”
  • “I lust.”
  • “I covet.”
  • “I’m discontent.”
  • “I worry too much.”
  • “I doubt God’s goodness.”

“There’s no way out of this.”  “God cannot be trusted – He’s abandoned you.”  “You’re a failure.”  “You’ll never change.”  “Accept it – this is the way you are – this is the way things will always be.”  That’s the voice of the Enemy.  He wants you to remain captive – enslaved – cloaked in darkness, believing his lies and moving further away from the light of God’s Truth.

Know this: whatever you are facing, things can change.  We have that hope in the Lord.  You must believe this.  He is our Rock and Refuge.  He hears your cries, specializes in transformation, loves to make all things new.  Oh, how He wants to you to have victory and freedom!

Here’s the challenge: before the sun goes down today, talk to God about your struggle.  Both of you already know about it, but maybe you’ve never actually discussed it.  Then search His Word for one of His promises that speaks to it and ask God to begin to use it to reveal it’s power.  If you can’t seem to the right verse, then look in a concordance or search a topical Bible on the Internet like the one at https://www.biblegateway.com/topical/.

Pray it out loud to God – that’s right – out loud.  There is so much power in the spoken Word. The Enemy wants you to remain silent so he can win the battle that’s raging in your heart and mind.  Speak out the Truth.  Hear it.

Then, write it on a post-it note and put it in front of your eyes. See it. Out of sight, out of mind, right?   We forget and retreat all too easily.  We need to be reminded.  Study it. Understand what God means and what He is promising to you. Mediate on it every day.  Grasp by faith what He is saying.  Keep praying and agreeing with God.  Cling to it.  Claim it.

Hide His word in your heart (Psalm 119:11).  By doing so, you give the Holy Spirit instant access to this promise to encourage you, to help you resist temptation, to increase your faith, to give you strength, to redeem loss, to restore brokenness, to set you free or to help you courageously face whatever you’re going through.  Can you hear His Voice?  You are not alone.  Jesus is walking through this with you and His Presence makes all the difference.

God is faithful and His Word is powerful. He keeps His promises.  He can be trusted.

John 8:31-32 “If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”                                                                                                                                                                                                – Jesus
